1. Content of Program
◆Visiting/Studying/Training in selected surgical groups led by senior neurosurgeons, the trainee would receive comprehensive guidance and supervision from a professor/senior neurosurgeon.
◆Diseases includes: carotid artery stenosis and occlusion, vertebral artery stenosis and occlusion, intracranial artery stenosis and occlusion, Moyamoya disease, acute ischemic stroke, and carotid dissection.
◆Clinical training includes: Diagnosis, evaluation, and therapy of ischemic cerebrovascular diseases; Microsurgical, neurointerventional and hybrid operations; Interventional simulation system, surgical planning, advanced image evaluation technology, including optical coherence tomography (OCT), fractional flow reserve (FFR), and high-resolution MRI.
◆ Optional training of microvascular anastomosis (4 weeks)
◆ Opportunities to participate in the Chinese academic conferences；
◆ Opportunities to participate in various research projects of the cerebral revascularization center
◆ Visit the neuro-anatomy training center (2 weeks)
◆ Surgical plan discussion with all senior neurosurgeons every morning
◆ Whole department collective review of all surgical cases of all subspecialties every week
◆ Entire department collaborative review of new technique/complicated case every week
◆ Entire department joint morbidity and mortality (M&M) review every week
◆ One month: cerebral revascularization center observation
◆Six months/Twelve months:To understand the principles of microsurgical, interventional, and hybrid treatments for ischemic cerebrovascular disease.
