Background
Dr. Ma Yan graduated with the medical doctor degree of clinical medicine and neurosurgery in Peking Union Medical College in 2005. In 2012, she served in neurosurgical department in University of Illinois Chicago as the visiting scholar. Now she is the attending surgeon of XuanWu Hospital. She has 15 years of experiences in diagnosis and treatment of neurosurgical diseases especially for ischemic cerebrovascular diseases. She is the PI of “Carotid artery and Middle cerebral artery Occlusion Surgery Study (CMOSS registration at Clinical Trials )” – subtopic of “The national twelfth five-year science and technology support program”. In 2016, she was assigned as the director of Yasargil Microsurgical Training Center. Her clinical focus is micro-neurosurgical skill in carotid endarterectomy and EC-IC bypass.
