Research Interests

The treatment of intracranial atherosclerosis, carotid artery stenosis or occlusion, and acute stroke caused by large artery occlusion； The evaluation of vessel wall imaging with optical coherence tomography (OCT) and high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (HR-MRI), and the hemodynamic evaluation of cerebrovascular diseases with fractional flow reserve (FFR) 

Background

Dr. Jiao studied at Shandong University from 1989 to 1997 and obtained a Master's degree in Neurosurgery. After graduation, he became a resident at Qilu Hospital of Shangdong University for residency training from 1997 to 2001. Then he pursued a Doctor's degree in Neurosurgery at Capital Medical University from 2001 to 2004. Besides, he accomplished his postdoctoral research at Peking University. He returned to Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University to work in 2006. Now, he is a chief physician at Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University, and a neurosurgery professor at Capital Medical University. He specializes in surgical and endovascular treatment for ischemic cerebrovascular diseases and focuses on the researches of mechanism, imaging evaluation, and treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular diseases.
