Background

Prof. Yan Xiaoming was born in Tonghua, Jilin Province. He obtained his Ph.D. in Neurosurgery from Jilin University in 2004 and subsequently joined the postdoctoral research program at Capital Medical University, where he conducted clinical research on stem cell transplantation for neurological disorders. After completing his postdoctoral training in 2006, he began working in the Functional Neurosurgery Department at Xuanwu Hospital, where he has successively held positions as Attending Neurosurgeon and Associate Chief Neurosurgeon. With 20 years of clinical experience, he has performed over 10,000 surgeries, specializing in the surgical treatment and neuromodulation of various neurological functional impairments. His expertise includes surgical interventions for movement disorders such as cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, and tremors, as well as treatments for paralysis and pain following brain and spinal cord injuries. Additionally, he is experienced in epilepsy surgery and neuromodulation therapy, along with surgical treatments for conditions such as hemifacial spasm, trigeminal neuralgia, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, hydrocephalus, and skull defects.
