From May 17th to 19th, 2024, the first academic activity after the opening of Xiongan Xuanwu Hospital -"National Continuing Education Course on Neurocritical Care and the First Neurocritical Care Seminar." was successfully held. A number of neurosurgery and neurocritical care experts from all over the country attended the seminar. The course attracted more than 100 healthcare professionals from more than 10 provinces and autonomous regions, including Hebei, Tianjin, Guangdong, Guangxi, Liaoning, Hunan, Xinjiang, etc., to discuss the latest advances in the field of neurocritical care and treatment strategies. The choice of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University to hold this course in Xiongan New Area is a concrete embodiment of the response of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University to the national strategy, as well as a strong support for the development of medical care in Xiongan New Area. As a national new area, Xiongan New Area needs high-level academic exchanges and continuing education activities to support its medical and health care, and Xiongan Xuanwu Hospital, as the first public tertiary medical institution in Xiongan New Area, should undertake this important mission.

The class was held after a warm speech by Cao Peifeng, CPC Party secretary of Xiongan Xuanwu Hospital. The speakers of the course consisted of a number of experts in neurocritical care and critical care medicine at Xuanwu Hospital, including Wang Ning, ICU Director of the Department of Neurosurgery, Xu Yueqiao and Qu Xin, the senior consultant neurosurgeon, Zhao Hao, Qi Mang, Wang Meiping and Song Lipo, the consultant neurosurgeon and Jiang Lidan and Cheng Weitao, the attending neurosurgeon. The course content closely centered on various aspects of neurocritical care, providing the participants with a practical clinical course that not only consolidated the basic knowledge, but also highlighted the latest research progress in the field.

The trainees generally reflected that the course was rich in content and practicality, and benefited from answering the difficult questions they encountered in the past in the clinic. During the interactive session, the participants asked questions enthusiastically and the lecturing experts answered them patiently. The atmosphere was warm, and the trainees consolidated the basic knowledge of neurological care, and also mastered the cutting-edge treatment techniques and management concepts.

The last activity of the course was a visit to Xiongan Xuanwu Hospital guided by Director Wang Ning. As a landmark medical institution in Xiongan New Area, the hospital has advanced facilities and a beautiful environment, providing first-class medical services for patients. The warm and convenient design concepts of the outpatient and emergency clinics, and the advanced equipment of the Neurological Intensive Care Unit and inpatient wards allowed the trainees to experience the hospital's modern management and humanized services firsthand. After the visit, many trainees expressed their heartfelt admiration for the construction and development of Xiongan Xuanwu Hospital. A trainee from Xinjiang said, "Xiongan Xuanwu Hospital not only has first-class hardware facilities, but also has very good software services, reflecting the high level of management of modern hospitals. This train not only gave me a great improvement in my professional knowledge, but also let me see the bright future of the medical career in Xiongan New Area." Another participant from Hunan said, "The content of this course is very full, the lecturing experts' explanation is in-depth, especially after visiting Xiongan Xuanwu Hospital, it strengthens my confidence in applying what I have learned to improve the local medical level when I go back. Xiongan Xuanwu Hospital has set an example for medical construction in Xiongan New Area and even the whole country."

Through this study class, Neurocritical Care of Xuanwu Hospital provides a high-level learning and exchange platform for national neurocritical care medical staff.
