Department Press release | Neurosurgical Skills Training Center held a digital upgrade launch ceremony

No accumulation of steps,

As we all know, basic skills training in neurosurgery is crucial to the growth of young physicians. In order to better and more systematically improve the basic clinical skills of young neurosurgeons and to improve the quality of medical care and better serve patients, a digital upgrading ceremony was held in the morning of September 21 at the Neurosurgery Skills Training Center of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University.

Speech by Prof. Dr. Hongqi Zhang

First of all, Prof. Dr. Hongqi Zhang gave a speech for the launching ceremony. He emphasized the importance of technical skills training, mentioning that technical skills training is a necessary path for neurosurgeons to grow, and that they need training and improvement throughout their professional lives.

Prof. Dr. Hongqi Zhang said that the department provides an excellent training platform for beginning neurosurgeons. In addition to clinical training, we have a floor of training centers in our teaching building, including the Yasargil Microscopy Training Center, the Sami Skull Base Surgical Anatomy Training and Research Center, the Endoscopy Center and more, and a large number of trainees come to Xuanwu Hospital for training every year.

"Our residents and graduate students spend much more time here, and they spend time in the lab after school or between surgeries to train again, in addition to their regular daily training time. Technical skills training is a necessary part of neurosurgery growth, and if you train solidly at a young age, you will grow faster and more consistently later."

"After the digital upgrade, we can use the digital format for remote observation, remote training and remote instruction, and I believe that after the upgrade, our teaching can also be richer and more flexible, and can benefit more people. "

Prof. Dr. Hongqi Zhang finally mentioned that Johnson & Johnson has put a lot of efforts in the whole surgical training process, and he would like to thank Johnson & Johnson very much for their strong support. As part of the National Medical Center for Neurological Diseases, the Department of Neurosurgery at Xuanwu Hospital also hopes to make more contributions to the development of neurosurgery and the growth of fellow neurosurgeons across the country.

In addition, Mr. Mingrui Hu, a representative of Johnson & Johnson Medical Technology, also made a speech and expressed his special honor and pleasure to bring some excellent courses to Xuanwu Hospital to help the development of neurosurgery.

Sharing his experience of growing up as a neurosurgeon, Prof. Dr. Fengzeng Jian emphasized that basic knowledge and fundamental skills are crucial for surgeons. "Do you have to use a lot of highly sophisticated equipment or navigational robots in surgery to get it right? It's not. The quality of your surgery is definitely not because you use robots and other highly sophisticated equipment, but to a large extent lies in the solidity of basic skills, which reflects the importance of basic surgical skills, basic training. Don't underestimate these things; innovation, it arises from a solid theoretical and operational foundation."
